NH GRAFTON — Grafton selectmen hear shooting range noise complaints but lack zoning to regulate it. Chair Ed Grinley told the Board of Selectmen on August 18 that the town lacks zoning ordinances to regulate Smith River Shooting Clays, where residents Kathleen and Kevin Bolash complained of continuous noise since the range reopened in May. Grinley reported discussing the matter with owner Craig, who agreed to follow a prior owner's operational agreement and cease shooting during town events.
In other business, Steve Darrow reported increased ambulance calls and completion of a contract with Canaan, though the board will begin next-year negotiations soon.
